Non Residential Primary School

Under the financial assistance from the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt. of India, New Delhi, the Western Rural Socio-Economic Development Organization (WRSEDO), Heinoukhongnembi, Konjeng Leikai, Imphal West District, Manipur has been running a non-residential primary school for 100 (hundred) Scheduled caste students since the academic session 1999 vide sanction order No. 11020/277/2009-SCD-III. With this project of Non-Residential Primary School for 100 Scheduled Caste students, 10 number of honorarium staff both teaching and non-teaching are being provided /employed for smooth functioning of the project/ programme. As per the vision of this scheme is going same percent, facilities to the target groups i.e. free admission, tuition books and stationeries, uniforms, mid-day meal, regular medical checkup etc.

Pre-School & Early Intervention and Training for Physically handicapped persons

This organisation (WRSEDO) has set up and running a Pre-School and Early Intervention and Training for disable persons at Heinoukhongnembi Konjeng Leikai. The main objective of the project is to give Health, Physical development training and Education etc. so that they can become perfect citizen in feature. 20 (twenty) persons had attended in the Institution.

Welfare Programme for Disable & Handicapped persons

In spite of having a number of welfare programme /scheme for people with disabilities implemented by Government Deptt./Agencies many people with disabilities left behind and unable to get the benefit of the scheme. This organisation has been involving in the activities relating to the welfare activities of the disabilities for last 3 years. During the period under report, the organisation has conducted a special health camp for mentally retarded persons at Konjeng Leikai, Imphal West District on 5th July, 2019. Free health checkup and distribution of medicines including vitamins were main activities of the programme. Altogether 85 mentally retarded persons attended the programme.

Mobile Health Care Camps

The health condition of women and child living in rural areas is very must poor in the state. In this regard, the organization has started to take up a project entitled “Rural Health Mission” in the Imphal West District for healthiness of their life. As a follow-up of the programme, the organization had organised 1 day Free Medical Camp in collaboration with Community Health Centre, Heinoukhongenbi Awang Leikai, Imphal West District, Manipur on 20th October, 2019. Medicines was also distributed at free of cost with its own fund of the organisation.

Food Preservation and Processing Training Programme

The organisation had conducted 15 days training course on Food Preservation and processing Training for women from 15th December, 2019 at the premises of the organization’s training hall with its own fund of the organization with the participation of enrolment of 20 trainees. The main objective to hold such training is to encourage the entrepreneurship skill among the educated unemployed youths of Imphal West District, Manipur so as to have self-employment opportunities. A Training programme was conducted in close collaboration with Food & Nutrition Extension Cell, Imphal. For this training programme, one Food Technologist was also engaged for the course. The raw materials of the training were bear by the organization for preparation of Juice for Pineapple, apple, passion fruit, Mango etc

Agri & Horticulture Development Programme

By giving awareness to farmers including Marginal farmers, landless labourer and banded labourers into Development Programme on Agro products have been set up since the last 4 years by a sub-committee of an Agri-Horticulture three department under the head of the organization. As a part of programme, the organisation had organized 3-days Awareness cum Workshop Program on Agri & Horticulture Development at five different villages of Imphal West District, Manipur.  About 120 rural poor marginal farmers, agricultural labors, women SHGs and Village leaders were participated in the program. Experts and resource persons from the District Horticulture Department delivered lecturer in the program. Under this program about 3,000 fruit bearing  trees and Rabi and Kharip seeds were distributed to the participants with free of cost. The main objective of the program is to provide employment opportunities to the women Self Help Groups, rural poor farmers and to conserve soil and water for maintaining ecological balance in particulars.

Welfare Programme for Scheduled Tribe

A 6 (six) months Job Orientation Coaching programme had been organized for candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribe (STs), at the premises of WRSEDO’s Training Complex, Heinoukhongnembi Konjeng Leikai, Imphal West District, Manipur for the central and state post such as Sub-Inspector, Bank Probationary Officer and Clerks, Graduate teacher, SSC Asst. Grade, SSC Clerks, Computer Operators etc. so as to enable them to prepare for competitive examination free of cost. The main object of the programme was to make increase the rate of success among job seeking candidates belonging to OBCs/SCs/STs/Minorities for Public and Private sector jobs

Skill Development Training Programme for Youth

The organisation has conducted two batches of Skill Up-gradation Training Programme in Cane and Bamboo Crafts during the months of July and August at Organization’s training hall, Heinoukhongnembi Konjeng Leikai, Imphal West District, Manipur with own fund of the organisation. 30 nos. of trainees were benefited in the training programme. One Master trainer was engaged on the honorarium basis. The pass out beneficiaries was getting jobs in the public and private sectors, units and establishment.

Environment Awareness Camps

On the 5th June 2019 in connection with the World’s Environment Day, the WRSEDO organised a tree plantation programme and awareness at Heinoukhongnembi Konjeng Leikai, Imphal West District in collaboration with local clubs and Meira paibis. The main objective behind the programme is to turn the wasteland into a productive and fertile one leading to a Greener Manipur for a better and pollution free environment. More than 1700 saplings of different species were planted.

Games & Sports Expenses

With a view of promotion of games and sports as a means of all round development of rural youths, the organisation had organised two numbers of five days inter villages sports meet at Konjeng Leikai, Imphal West District, Manipur. Sporting Union ground from 20th August, 2019. Competition on various levels on different outdoors games like on Football, Volleyball, Basketball and Handball were held during the said sports meet. Certificates and trophies were awarded to the winners. Altogether 260 youths from different parts of Imphal West District had participated in the said sports meet.

Adolescent Camps

Though active participation of students who dropped out from the School and teachers from different schools and colleges, the organisation has conducted 15 days Adolescents Development Programme on Adolescent especially for school going and school dropped out students during the summer vacation with the engaged experts. The main activities of the programme were necessity of adolescent education technique, leadership among them in relation with students and teachers as well as parents. The main objective of the programme was the competition of drawing, painting, music, dance, recitation, etc. The programme were successfully performed by the participation of 20 teachers and 200 school going and school dropped out students from different schools of Imphal West District. During the programme, 3 (three) resource persons from District Youth Affairs and Sports Office took delivered above five objectives clearly to the youth. The expert have also about major depression anxiety disorders, nicotine dependence, alcohol dependence and abuse as well as educational underachievement, unemployment, early parenthood suicide attempt. Suicide, the serious risk of depression is the third leading cause of death among the youth aged 15-24 years. It is imperative that high school student, parent and teacher understand the clear link between depression and suicide. Depression is the primary cause of suicide. Thus depression education can be effective suicide prevention; depression is a treatable medical illness. Thus the programme concluded with interaction of the youth.

Craft Training Programme

Three months Craft Training Programme for rural youth in the trade-Cane & Bamboo and Wood Carving has been conducted at organization’s training complex. The training programme started from 1st November, 2019. The training programme covered 20 nos. of trainees of youth in each trade. The organisation had engaged three instructors at different trade of cane & bamboo and wood carving. Thus, WRSEDO provided all the necessary equiptments and material to the training programme. The objective of the training programme was to promote the skill development of rural women and girls to able their feature challenges of livelihood like perennial source of income to the remote area of village. Thus the instructors targeted the syllabus of the trade and after completion of the theory class, practical classes were conducted which was taught in the theory class. After the completion of the vocational training programme the trainees got a perennial income to the rural area. The organisation also provided loan facility to the eligible beneficiaries to operate cane & bamboo and wood craft centre to their respective area in low interest and require materials are also available to them. The organisation collected their products for marketing the different items from them. Thus the organisation got the opportunities to skill development for youth as well the income generation programme of the organisation in such remote area.

Women & Child Labour Welfare Programme

A four days Health Care camp for women and child to the nearby remote area at Heinoukhongnembi village in associated with CHC, Heinoukhongnembi, Imphal West were concluded a free medical camp for 2 days from 22nd September, 2019. The medicines are distributed at free of cost. It covered 80 women, during this year the organisation also selected 15 child labourers and brought them under the educational sponsored program of the organisation. Thus the program occupied 30 women and 14 child of below poverty line family where such medical facilities are not available. They also get about the health care information especially for women. They also got the step to be taken for their child in different stage because they are the pillar of the future generation.
